What makes the Gold program different from the Rec program?
The Rec program is a 4v4 small sided program that introduces players and their family to the joy of soccer, it is broken up into 3 short seasons fall, winter and spring, the games are all played at the same location and the league is a in-house league played against other Sereno teams.The Gold program is full sided games played with goalkeepers, the teams play in the state run open league (the same league as our competitive teams only in lower divisions). Half your games are played on your home field and others a your opponents home field. The gold program runs September-March. Gold teams will also play in two tournament during the season.
What will my child learn in the Gold program?
The coaches in the gold program our given a curriculum that will focus on individual player development. The focus of the gold program is on individual player development, so if a child decides they want to play competitive soccer later on, they will have the skill set to do so.
What is the Goal of the Gold Program?
Our goal for the Gold program is to foster player development through positive reinforcement, promote and encourage high standards of character, teamwork and sportsmanship. To instill confidence and pride, to support players physical and personal development in a fun and rewarding environment.
Once in the Gold program can we move during the season?
Yes, if a parent or a player feels they would like to move to our competitive program, they can work with our professional coaching staff to decide the best fit for the players development.
What's the difference between North and South Gold Teams?
The North Gold teams will train and play most of their games in the NE Valley (North Phoenix, Scottsdale), and the Sereno South Gold teams will train and play most of their games in the East Valley.
